Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterised by stringing postures together so that you move seamlessly from one to another using breath, creating a 'flow'. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike. The word “vinyasa” can be translated as 'arranging something in a special way'. In vinyasa, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next.
The studio will be warm, not hot, for this class.
In Yin Yoga you will experience a slow, steady and soothing class where you will hold individual poses for longer to work deep into the 'yin' tissues. When you gently stretch connective tissue by holding a Yin pose for an extended period you make your muscles and tissues a little longer, stronger and more resilient (which is also a great complement to your Bikram practice!).
At the end of the class you will be guided through a relaxing meditation using visualisation techniques and breath work to encourage maximum restoration and relaxation.
The class is practised at a moderate temperature and is candlelit when it’s dark outside to create a serene atmosphere, but during daylight hours, we embrace natural light.
Bikram 60 (60 minute class)
The same classic sequence with a faster pace, this shorter version delivers amazing benefits and wonderful results. All 26 postures and two breathing exercises are on offer (some performed twice, others once) in this condensed class.
The heat boosts circulation, mobility, and detoxification, while mindful breath control fosters mental resilience.
